I installed https://wordpress.org/plugins/taxonomy-terms-order/ and was able to get the category order the way I wanted.

While the files appear to order as expected, child categories don’t… or is there a separate way to indicate how those should be sorted? On my page I have the main category “Council Meeting Minutes” and then sub categories for “2018”, “2017”, etc. The files sort by date as hoped, but not the child categories.

This is the shortcode I’m using: [wpdm_tree download_link=1 category=”city-council-meeting-minutes” orderby=”date”]

Thank you for your time so far in responding, but I found that if I remove the Pro plugin and install the free version, it does what I want. The title is not linked to the page by default in that link template, so that will resolve my current issue.

What I want to edit is the default template used for links inserted with the format [ wpdm_package id=”614″]… the default links to the page via the package title. I see how I can make clones and edit templates, etc., but I can’t find where I can set which template is the default template for the links to display individual packages. I’m hoping to not have to select a template for the link individually for every package.

Ok, I’m more confused. 🙁 I installed the addon, but don’t see a difference in the cloning/editing capability. I cloned a template and edited it, and I do see how to set it for an individual package, but not how to set my modified version as the default for all links… I tried disabling all link templates except my new cloned/edited one, but it doesn’t seem to affect what’s showing by default. I would have thought that would be in the main settings somewhere, but don’t see it. Am I missing something?

Where can I set the default template for links? I thought I remembered a place to do that in the free version but can’t find one in the Pro version.
