Hi Nayeem,

Another month has past and we wanted to check the status of getting categories, tags, and images exporting via CSV. Have your developers completed this yet?

That option still takes longer than simply doing it in the csv file like how woocommerce does it.

That is not helpful. Your team really needs to improve the CSV importer as it is terrible for managing everything from a CSV file. Many things are excluded from the import file that are included in the export file. The most pointless thing is the import file and export file do not match up. Why export the file when users can’t reupload it to make changes? Users have to do a lot of extra work.

I can do that but takes a while when there are 3000 resources

Also when I refresh the page, the file liveforms.zip is gone.

Nayeem,

Would it be better to have a column for setting the post status? Not sure what kind of permission issue it could be when I’m the admin.

Hi Nayeem,

This is not working “Exporting files is not working with 10 or fewer packages in my WordPress dashboard. After importing my list of 3000 packages it works. Not sure what is up with that.”

Hi Download Manager,

For some unknown reason, the https://www.gitiportalus.com/wp-content/uploads/sample.csv works but the update-events-to-add-category.csv file does not work. The file that does not work creates duplicates instead of updating packages. Do you see any difference between the two and why this is happening?

Also when packages update it changes the status to draft. How can I keep the packages published?

Best,

Hi Download Manager,

Can I please have help fixing this issue? It has been over a month without a resolution.

Can my question about the uid column be answered?

Can you tell me what is wrong with this csv file? I do not see anything wrong with it but it does create duplicates instead of updating packages. The ID column is included and uid is set to 1. I guess the uid stands for update id.

Hi Nayeem,

My problem has not been resolved. I am not able to update a small batch of packages via CSV file.

Hi Nayeem,

I don’t think this should be marked as resolved until the issue is fixed. Any news on when the update will come?

Hi Nayeem,

I’m not sure what I was going wrong. What is the uid column for. Does ID have to be in caps? Today I have off but I’ll try again on Monday.

I am very confused how to make this work. The sample file could not be updated. Tried adding the id to the columns name id and uid. No luck, but adding to uid stop the packages from duplicating.

Hi Nayeem,

No worries, the login credentials sent before are active. Please try updating a package on my site. Let me know which ones and what I am doing wrong.

Best,
Verne

Hi Nayeem,

Looks like this has been an issue for a while. Found this old support ticket https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/existing-packages-not-updating-new-packages-being-created/. How you found a good fix?

Do you have more documentation on updating resources via CSV. Also, how do I import subcategories? I could not find an example and my csv exporter is not working. I submitted another ticket about it.

Hi Nayeem,

I am having this issue again after updating to the latest version of the plugin. When I try to export I get a screen that say Download ID not found or expired.

I’ll check my version and let you know if it works.

Hi Nayeem,

Adding all columns did not fix my issue. Importing this sample.csv file did not update the package but it created two new ones. How can I update packages via csv.
