We haven’t and we cant really, as its a business critical system for a very large company so it needs to be working all the time and look right. Are you not able to see the problem as why it has suddenly stopped working as its worked for years until recently?
It feels like you aren’t looking into the admin of the site, as that plugin is already there. However, so as not to debate it, I have done what you asked which is download the plugin and install it. I was given the screen to say “This plugin is already installed.” it said that the exact same version was already there but I opted to overwrite with the version you sent. Still not working!
Are you logged into the site and seeing the backend?
So what needs to be done next as its still not working?
Not sure what you are suggesting in buying another addon. The system has worked fine for years, why do we need to buy something new now? We already have the Archive addon installed (I have a screen shot of it installed but cant upload it in this chat). Have you logged into the site to see what we have?
We have a problem yet again…the page loaded but files were not showing and there was a message “select a category”. We noticed there was an update available for the Archive Manager addon to 1.9.7 which we updated and now we just get a message on the page of the shortcode [wpdm_archive_compact items_per_page=”8″ template=”bunzlcatering” cols=1 colspad=1 colsphone=1 order_by=”post_title” order=”asc”]
Great, thank you Shahjada. What was the issue?
We very very much appreciate that, thank you.
Can I ask, going forward do we do the updates via the core WordPress updates, or your Settings Updates section, or does it have to be done manually?
Thank you again.
Regards
James
Sorry to push, but as we use the system for our client, that is a huge international company, to allow there customers to download health and safety data for chemicals, its being used as a business critical system. Do you have some time scales for the plugin to be updated/fixed so I can update the client please? Also can you think of any work arounds that would allow users to access the data sheets?
Regards
James
Hi,
I had presumed that the “updates” section under the settings page would ensure the plugins were up to date. I had previously selected the “check for updates” button and both came back with a tick box and “updated” next to them. I have now manually updated both packages we have have purchased and it now shows WPDM Default Values ( wpdm-default-values.zip ) has gone from 1.7.0 to 1.9.7. However even though I have uploaded the latest version the WordPress Download Manager Special Pack ( wpdm-archive-page.zip )remains on 2.9.3.
Unfortunately even though there has been an update the message “loading” doesn’t not change and therefore the problem still exists.

James
Hi Humayon,
I was wondering if you had chance to look at the problem as we are getting pressure from our client?
