I’ve identified that this is an issue with WordPress Core and a bug with release 6.7.1
There is a hotfix for this issue that has been released. It will be patched in release 6.7.2
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/62504
I attempted disabling my active theme and using a stock WordPress theme. This issue still persists. Where do you suggest looking for conflicts if we have already disabled plugins and attempted using a default theme to check?
Renaming a category and its slug causes the issue to persist.
Deleting and creating new would create a new ID for that category, wouldn’t it? So all previously set pages that filter based on category will need to be changed?
Yes, issue appears with other categories as well.
– Twilight Series
– POP
– H2X
One thing to note, the categories that this issue occurs in are all parent categories.
Thanks Nayeem for the response.
I went and set Maintenance mode for my site. I then deactivated one by one each plugin, then refreshed a download that I was editing. After deactivating each plugin, I checked to see if clicking the ‘photography’ category would also add other categories. I also switched the theme to a default 2025 theme. Even after deactivating plugins other than wpdm and setting a default theme, the issue persists.
To replicate, you can see when selecting “Photography” category, many others get selected
This must have been a server issue, as we just had a lot of files uploaded. Must have had trouble “gulping” everything. Everything resolved itself after a couple hours.
Will this workaround/fix be integrated into the normal packages block in a future update?
Will there be a plugin update to resolve the issue?
Just following up to see if you were able to take a look at this
Hey Nayeem, since I opened this issue you haven’t logged in with the support login, but you’ve said everything looks fine. Please look at the “edit page” of the dashboard for the page in question.
For example, this page:
http://masterspasmedia.com/all-features/
Should only show image downloads with the category ‘Photography’ and have the tag “features”.
When that is selected in the package block editor, it shows all photography. Not just photography with the feature tag. How can we limit ALL other photography except tags that are stated?
I have adjusted it to match the category that needs shown, and to only show downloads with a specific tag. There are still downloads that are shown that do not have the correct tag.
Also, clicking on a download page to see more information displays a page without any information as if things were not migrated properly in the update.
Nayeem, this is only one page that solves the issue, what about this page?

At this time you can, yes. We have a backup made of the plugins we can revert to if need be.
The majority of pages have this issue when upgrading. Here is just one example
http://masterspasmedia.com/all-downshots/
When editing the page before the update, We have an option to choose a category, how the categories match, as well as an option to choose tags to match for the downloads. After the update, those options are not there, but only the ability to choose a category. I suspect this is part of the issue why pages are not displaying downloads anymore.
We have rolled back the update for the plugin. Again, updating the plugin completely breaks usability of the site.
The support login that was created for you to support is still active and has not been disabled.
It appears as though the blocks integration broke with the upgrade? Meaning that we need to go through each category page and update those categories to display?
Also, we used to be able to pick a category and pick tags to show and ONLY those downloads with those categories and tags. That ability is now gone. How do we choose to show only downloads from one category and not ones with multiple?
Edit:
For example: If we have two downloads that have the following categories
– Download 1 – “Photography, Top View”
– Download 2 – “Photography, Lifestyle”
We used to be able to make a category page where we specified to show only downloads that matched “Photography” and “Top View”, but excluded any other match. The page would should Download 1. Now, if we make a category page that has those filters for category, it shows both Download 1 and Download 2 because the category “Photography” matches on both. How can we filter these category pages properly?
Oh my, Nayeem, I specifically asked that any plugin updates not be made while diagnosing.
The category pages still have no packages on them. I went to WPDM settings, then migrate tags. I migrated tags and the progress bar reached 100%, then nothing. There are still no packages on the category pages.
Nayeem, just wanted to follow up here as I haven’t heard anything back. The proposed plugin you provided causes an error on our dashboard. We will need further assistance
