Shahriar,
I NEED those fields. That was what I am trying to say. I have them showing on the templates, but NEED them showing on the back-end, so they can be edited.
Sorry, hopefully this can help clarify…
When I imported, I had three extra fields, as I did the other times I imported a long time ago. Those fields are for effective date, last reviewed and last revised. I created a template that included these fields on the front-end (in screenshot from last post – sans the last reviewed date, which they have since said they do not need). Those dates show on the front-end, but on the back-end editor view, they are not in the custom fields.
I am so sorry for being the moving target. It is because this client is all over the map and changing things on faster than we can react to those changes.
Quick question. If a remove a whole subset of the files that had extra metadata (extra fields) and then reimport them using the original process (non-exported table), would the best approach still be to use the advanced import plugin to wpdm? You had said that you made a modification to support that plugin and posted it in this ticket. Can you confirm this? If so, I will grab the advanced import plugin today and the plugin in this ticket and proceed to re-import the items with the additional fields.
Is there posted structure of the json structure of the files column, so I can see if I can further tailor the import file?
I know this project and this ticket don’t seem to have an end, but I wanted to say thank you for hanging in there with me and all of the help you have given. I will find a way to repay you for it, whether through licenses or otherwise, but please know how much I do appreciate it. It is not taken lightly and has really made a difference throughout all of this.
Thank you for the insight and guidance. The only hangup is how I can control the other information like categories and custom fields that had been setup with the other imports. This whole project went so sideways and it was not on account of the plugin, but trying to get a million disparate pieces to come together and then to have the other issue creep in still worries me a bit about the process, but I am going to give it a shot.
Also, because there are lots of duplicates throughout the imports, the plugin would naturally rename the files when I was doing a one-by-one approach. How does the import engine handle these types of filename duplicates?
Thank you again for all of the help,
-jason
Can I use the export to alter and then import? If so, will it alter, or add?
I guess maybe the bigger question is with some stuff working and some not, and there being so many files and knowing each needs to be indexed, what is the best way to resolve the issues? Is it working with the export and re-importing a repaired file, using the export as a guide to create a new import and remove everything beforehand? I need to wrap this project and am scared to do something to make the situation worse.
Shahriar,
Just so you know, they always show this error. I have never once gotten an export link to work using the export tool.
I wish the download link worked, but I get the same error I was getting.
Download ID not found or expired
Please advise as soon as possible. I really need this export to see what I have to do.

Shahriar,
I know you are probably really busy, but I need to roll this out in the next week and am not sure what to do next.

I am sorry to be reaching out again, but as I was trying to get this project finished up, I just encountered something taht stopped me in my tracks. For the bulk of the uploads, I did a large import, and all appeared to work properly. I was able to see and search for files and file contents, something that was the requirement of the project. But, after doing some manual package additions, we were going back through, making sure that everything was good, only to realize that somewhere in the large import, the files stopped working. This got me really, really worried about the extent of what works and what does not. Below is a link to an accordion that the packages download a file-not-found.txt file, rather than the correct package. After doing further checking, I am finding that the bulk of the files are not there.

I tried to find a way to export a package list, hoping to find urls of the source files, but I cannot get that to work. It gives me an error:
Download ID not found or expired
I have the deploy this site in a week and am now scared that I am going to have to somehow start over on all of the wpdm-based functionality. I have never been so frustrated or unsure of what to do next.
Can you provide and guidance or suggestion? You should still have full access to the website from the WP side and ftp. If you need something else, please let me know.

Thank you!
