When a file is auto uploaded to S3, will a local copy be kept on the server?

Does “Auto Upload All Files To S3” upload all files and folders from the server to S3?

There are several hundred thousand rows in Post/PostMeta tables

Do you see this error on the production portal or staging? WP Memory limit on the production environment is 1 Gig.
