Now, Effective Access to "Package P" = Selected roles in "Allow Access" field + All selected roles for "Category A" +  All selected roles for "Category B" = Subscribers, Authors, Editors

If you keep access field empty for package, still assigned access from selected categories will be applicable for package.

For now there is not way to add search field with that short-code, but you may use the other short-code [wpdm-all-packages jstable=1 category="category-slug"]

Allow access is an completely stable core feature and we didn’t change it recently, it is working fine in our installation. If it is not working for you, then, certainly there is something wrong with your setup and actually not a bug with plugin, I need to check it in your installation. At least give me an url and screenshot where you seeing it. But all the long way process always increase the resolution time.

That was actually under special consideration on old price and long time ago, now, price for most packages is already changed. And still our pricing is the lowest comparing with other similar service in market.
Another point is, Old order still will expire on 19thMay.
But no problem, we can discount $25 on all add-ons price as you already have special pack. And the special pack will be issues as new order and will not be expired on 19 May as your old order and after 19th May, you can discontinue the special pack and purchase wpdm pro with $45, that will be profitable for you.

And you don’t need to copy short-code from all packages page, please use this add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ to generate short-code easily.

WPDM Directory Add-on and Frontend Uploader Page is totally different thing. Attach dir option is not available in front-end, because it is not secure to allow access server dir to front-end users.

1. Create a dir named download-manager inside your active theme dir
2. Copy all files from /plugins/download-manager/tpls/ to the new dir ( #1 )
3. Now edit wpdm-add-new-file-front.php and hide/remove the fields you don’t need

Here we just check if the category already exists using term_exists function, if exists get associate the ID with imported package, if not we create the category using wp_insert_term, then we associate the new category id with package. However, @Shaon rescheduled it to test from ground and team will check everything again, I also added the point about description field you mentioned now.
