I’m working on getting you server access. It does look like there is an issue with the plugin because packages cannot be viewed or downloaded by any role unless a category has been added.

I tried your first suggestion but the Admin user still cannot view or download the file without publishing it first. This is no different than requiring the admin to attach a category first. Even after publishing the admins see an access denied if they click “view” from the main documents list. The uploader role sees a 404 page if they try to view the uploaded file before the Admin has published it.

I don’t see how the Category add-on would help. We don’t want to allow the customer to manage categories. We just want them to be able to upload a document and have it viewable and downloadable by the admin without any extra steps to add categories or publish etc.

Does a package have to have a category added in order to be downloaded or viewed?

I have that addon already, but I still do not see a way for a non admin user to view their own uploads without being given access to adding all the categories. How can permissions be set so when a certain user role uploads a file it can automatically be viewed or downloaded by both the admin and the uploader but no one else?

The license key I have entered in settings is the same as the one in my wpdm dashboard. I even tried recopying it over but I still see “invalid license key” when I click save settings.

That explains why I see that notice on staging but I also see it on the domain I originally purchased the license for so the license isn’t being recognized correctly.

I also tried clicking save settings on the live domain and it said “invalid license Key” so there seems to be a problem with the license.

When I go to that page and click save settings I see a notice for “invalid license key”. We do updates on a staging site first before the live site and this is the staging site we are working on now. Is the license only valid for one domain?

We were able to manually update.

I don’t understand what you mean by related packages. I also don’t understand why re-uploading is necessary. Is it possible to use the asset manager to move a file after it is uploaded? or do you have to upload it into the directory where you want it to be?

How many hours do you estimate this would take?

One file is shared with the Customer role and one file is shared with a specific user. I only want to display the file called “Test Customer Doc” that is shared with the user. Is that possible?

I’m not sure I understand your reply. I have a user named Test Client who has the Customer role. I would like the shortcode to display only files that were shared to his user account and not files that were shared to the role he has.

I don’t see a way to attach videos to my response. I will attach some screen shots instead.
