OK, I just found this:
In this table, I can see that the Email Lock is not supposed to work with the main plugin. It used to work just fine. Does it mean that with the latest version of the main FREE Download Manager version it won’t work, even when we’ve paid for it? (it worked just fine since May until early this year) Please clarify. Thank you.
Hello Shariar,
downloads never stopped working. I changed them to display the links to the files inline, after submitting the form . But what we really need is to get those links sent via email to the people that submit the form, which is how it was working before the main plugin update to its latest version.
Can you please check this again? I was out for a couple weeks on vacation, but I have to solve this issue this week.
Eventually, if you can confirm this will work with the paid version of the main plugin, we can purchase it, but I would prefer not to spend time on testing if it won’t work as expected.
Let me know, please. Thanks.
Hello Shahriar,
were you able to check the file? Thank you.
I was in contact with Shahnur back then. From what I remember, he had made some changes to the add-on so that the form would display every time, instead of showing the link to the file if there was a session still active, and after that I was notified that the change had made it to the published version. I’m sending the plugin with this message.
Regarding the user access, this is the first time in almost two weeks that somebody gives me some more information about what is happening with the user. Noone ever mentioned that the user did not have access to a plugin editor before. We manage this site through ManageWP service, and that may be the reason why the plugin editor does not show (I actually never used that function myself). Let me know if you can work based on the attached file, or you need me to enable the editor function (I’m not sure if that can be done with ManageWP though)
Thanks a lot.
Any news about this? Thanks.
Hi Hasibul,
I’m sorry, but I still don’t follow you. I’ve checked the function email_link in that file, but it does not say anything. It just calls another function, that seems to be part of a class of the main plugin. Can you please give me exact instructions of what file I can edit to change the email contents? If it is a plugin file, it is a poor solution, because that is going to be replaced with the next plugin update, and the add-on should have this into account. Otherwise, it should not be sold independently from the PRO version of the main plugin.
Let me know. Thanks.
hmm, I don’t follow you there. I can choose the form to display and I can tell it to send the link via email, but there is no way for me to modify the email content/layout. Am I missing anything?
Thanks!
And yes, you’re right. The add-on name is Form Lock, not Email Lock.
hmm, but then, when the plugin gets updated, my changes will be overwritten. Isn’t there a more persistent way of doing it?
What if I’ve bought the email lock add-on, but not the PRO version of the main plugin? Can I still customize the email? I don’t see a way of doing it. I can copy templates to the theme folder and edit them there if that will solve my problem. Let me know. Thank you.
