How can that be?
The file won’t upload with download manager but uploads into media library just fine.
So does’t that mean WP and server is ok and the problem lies elsewhere?
Brilliant
Thanks very much
Hi Shahjada
That is what I tried to do ….. it failed as per above
The good news is that the upgrade to v2.4 of the free WPDM – Image Button addon plugin worked successfully
“as we have implemented WordPress’s native plugin update routine” is good news.
looking forward to it
grrrrr
exactly the same experience. upgrading to v 4.6.8 as last upgrade to v 4..6.7.
ie
Click update in plugins list as per Admin UI
says to ‘wait’ a while – ok so i do!
then prompt from plugin upgrade process advises the update is successful., BUT in fact it is NOT SUCCESSFULL at all.
NO ERROR MESSAGES reported.
It did a total delete of all plugin files (checked by FTP – no download-manager folder in plugins folder)
So I had to download the installation kit and manually reinstall plugin.
Fortunately database had not been corrupted as all settings seem to be intact.
This has just happened to me too. (ie as per Drakah v 4.6.7 upgrade)
exactly the same experience.

Don’t know what happened but the download links seemed to have fixed themselves
Thanks but why did it happen and will it happen again on the next update
and my download links are wrong. They all show a “button” with the word “download” and a “play” icon (as in play a video) when they used to show either the link label I put in the package or just the word “download” as a link when there was no link label.in the package
Well
I did that
changed my ‘update’ login credentials to the correct ones . clicked save settings and it worked – immediatley
then i clicked ‘check updates’ and it listed my “WordPress Download Manager Special Pack” and it said that need to do an update – so i did.
AND NOW my site is BROKEN
there is no installation the WPDM plugin. ie no listing in ‘installed plugins’ and no folder/directory in ‘wp-content/plugins’
in other words it appears the ‘update’ did an uninstall
so no downloads are available on my site
URGENT help needed to fix this.
I know of this addon and If i wanted to change multiple defaults rather than just one default which has a totally inappropriate setting for my site I would be prepared to pay US$39, but not for a one off “global setting” change – my community organisation just can not afford to do so.
ok will do
I think I understand your pricing model now
1) initial purchase price for each product is as per your pricing page which provides a licence to use the product along with updates and support for a year.
2) then, on each annual anniversary, to continue to get “updates and support” the fee is as per the pricing page (ie same as a new initial purchase price),
3)If on any given anniversary I choose not to pay the annual fee then I can continue to use the product at the version it was at the time before my renewal date.
4) Each product has its own anniversary date depending on date of purchase.
thanks
ok thanks.
BTW I am now getting email notices of replies to the forum. Thanks for fixing that up too.
Hi
I still don’t get any packages listed under “all items”. I have a total of 12 packages loaded in my test site an none of them are displaying for my test user. But if I login as an administrator then I get a list of packages that have been created by that particular administrator (and not by other users which have administrator access).
I have uploaded a test package (using front end ‘add new’) when logged in as my test user and can confirm the only package in the list he sees in that the ‘all items’ listing is the one he has created. But if he uses a page with the shortcode “[wpdm_category id=........] to browse packages by category then he can see all the relevant package. Yes I know category is not the same thing as role base but at least he can see ‘like’ packages created by other users. The important bit for me is “created by other users”. But he can’t edit, view, or delete them as I need my ‘trusted’ custom roles to be able to do.
So it seems that by design that ‘all items’ actually means ‘packages uploaded by a given user’. If so then I can’t use this tool as I need role based package lists and not just ‘packages a given user has created’ lists.
Would you confirm that I have not misunderstood the current functionality that is available.
I haven’t tried creating ‘download-manager’ directory as the above seems to be a show stopper at the moment.
where in my WP directory structure do i create the ‘download-manager’ directory. Under my child theme directory structure or somewhere else?
