Thanks, I appreciate the reply. (It was very frustrating when you didn’t reply for a long time, our client is very upset with the situation)
The problems here is that:
1. That is not user friendly for the client. It’s supposed to be easy for them. They are not programmers, they are not going to be typing custom shortcodes.
2. And importantly, The root of the problem is that your plugin didn’t work quite how we wanted it to at first, without the customisation.
So we paid you for customisation, very clearly explained what was needed, and you told us it was possible, and took our money.
Now we have paid you a lot of money, a long time has passed, and now you are telling me it is not possible. So you haven’t done what we paid you for.
The files must already be accessible from any site on the network, because they work in the filtering area with the sidebar, in all sites. So, I don’t believe it’s not possible to make this work.
I read the explanation about post ID in your reply. But this was the whole thing we paid you for on this Task 1.
********* “”…. And making sure shortcodes are truly unique (ie not duplicated on sub sites)? “”…. *********
We have paid you for a solution, now you’re telling me it’s not possible. That’s not acceptable.
So what can we do?
(By the way, even your proposed, complicated and unnacceptable shortcode doesn’t work – Instead of showing a file, it shows “Login / Register” buttons – see attached screenshot. )
Thank you for the reply. It is very concerning though.
This is the most important task we paid for, Task 1. And it does not work.
I copied this part again below so we are clear what the specification was. I think our requirement was very clear – I highlighted it again like this: *****below*****:
We need the shortcode/package ID to work everywhere on the network. That is the whole purpose of making this plugin network compatible. Otherwise it is useless at the most fundamental level.
So if a package is created at Site A, the shortcode for that package should work – without any modification – on Site B, Site C, and/or Site D etc..
How can we fix this? Thanks. Greg

“I am not very happy about this, as your plugin states that it works on MultiSite. But in this sense, we have found it does not really –
**********If we upload a file to a network site, the shortcode for that file does not work on other sites in the network.

I guess by uploading all files into 1 central place rather than into seperate folders for each sub-site. And making sure shortcodes are truly unique (ie not duplicated on sub sites)?
So then, all files uploaded to any site, will be visible on the Parent site. Then, if the user selects it, the file will also be displayed on a child site.
(shown in screenshot_admin.jpg)”
Maybe you are confused. I have attached below the original specification agreed for this customisation, and your reply. Five months ago! We are not asking for anything extra. It’s the first item on the list…
The number 1 task, as you can clearly see, is that packages are multisite accessible.
I have paid you hundreds and hundreds of dollars for something that does not do the first task.
When the features work like they are supposed to, I will surely pay the remaining $.
The strange thing is – I think it was working before, when you first did the task, and now it is broken.
It should not be any special customised shortcode or whatever for each site.
The simple shortcode, like this, [wpdm_package id='7910'] should just work, for that same package, on any site on the network. That’s all.

Hello,
We require some further customisation work as discussed on the forum. Our username is “ravenswood”. Please see additional information for your estimate below. Please ask any questions, thank you:

So then, all files uploaded to any site, will be visible on the Parent site. Then, if the user selects it, the file will also be displayed on a child site.
(shown in screenshot_admin.jpg)
– Field is required to Publish/Update
Front end, on the parent site, a visitor can choose which files to display through sorting.
(shown in screenshot_frontend.jpg)
On child site, only the files that have been selected for that site will be visible.
(shown in screenshot_child.jpg)
– Field is required to Publish/Update
2. File sorting/ Custom Taxonomy.
We discussed this in previous emails. I have included your reply below this email as reminder.
To be clear:
– We need an additional option in admin (radio buttons) to specify a document type.
– On front end, the user must be able to filter by this, and by category. eg. Show me only “Meeting Agendas” from the category “Transport”, on the sidebar.
– Attached screenshot with filter highlighted in Purple (shown in screenshot_admin.jpg)
– Field is required to Publish/Update
3. Hiding certain files from the main display
We also want to manage some files using WPDM, and we want them to be able to be placed on some pages/post using shortcode, BUT we do not want them visible in the main documents section outlined above.
Please confirm if this be possible using the same option outlined in 2. File Sorting/ Custom Taxonomy – we create a classification of document type called “Internal” (for example) – and this is hidden in the document section, but if a shortcode to that package is actively placed somewhere, it will be visible?
NOTICE – Please be advised that if we do not receive a reply within 48 hours, we will seek to recover the money paid to you. We have paid you hundreds of dollars to do a task, and it has not been done.
There is a problem with the main functionality of this customisation
If a post is broadcast to another site, the shortcode does not work. The multi-site element we requested in the brief, relating to shortcodes, does not work.
You can see example with screenshots in the attached document.
Like I said all along, I would pay you when the work is finished.
Your work didn’t “finish a long time ago”… you didn’t finish the work in the first place! and I’ve been asking you to complete it for nearly 4 months now.
I KNOW they are 2 different shortcodes for single and all_packages! I know this now since March 7th!!!!! I did not know this when we asked for the customisation. We just asked for our files to be styled a certain way.
This is so simple! What part do you not understand?
We just want the single package default styled the same way as 1 line of the all_packages.
But it seems you cannot do this so I think we have to finish this problem soon and go elsewhere. I cannot pay you if you won’t do the job.
2. “Also this was not part of our original customization deal.”
We paid for our files to look a certain way. When we started working with you we did not know that individual files and files in a list are different. We just want our files (single or a list) to look the same.
3. Also this was not part of our original customization deal.
You already emailed me on 2nd of June, nearly 3 weeks ago, saying give me ftp and wp-admin info again here, I’ll adjust it for you.
Now you are going back on yourself, we are just going round in circles.
We want to pay you the remaining money outstanding. But I’m not doing that until this is done properly. I am waiting 3 months now for some simple shortcode styling.
Please fix it this week, or we can just call it quits and pay someone else to do it with your money if you won’t/can’t do it?
Tell me which option we should go ahead with please?
