I have set this page back to how it should be now as I have been provided the answer to this issue from your support.

For some reason your shotcode parameters have changed. The parameter is no longer ‘order_by’ as shown in the documentation here :

It has been changed to ‘orderby’

I have changed this in my site code, which is why you now see this different shortcode.

If I install an older version of the plugin that I have still got here, it goes right back to alphabetical order based on title.

This looks like something that has changed in the plugin. Please can you let me know.

Yes, I have that and it is not working :

[wpdm_category id="development-group" operator="IN" title="Custom Title Here or 1" desc="Custom Description or 1" toolbar="0" paging="0" order_by="title" order="desc" template="list-template" items_per_page="50" cols=1 colspad=4 colsphone=1]

This just defaults to order by ID.

It was working previously and I have not changed anything.
