Thanks Tanvir,

admin url: https://activeimages.info/
u: tanvir
p: wpdm12377!*

If you login through the front end you can then access the backend with the toobar.

Here is an example page: https://activeimages.info/active-toolkit/

It is a list of images and to reduce page speed I would like to set the images as ‘medium’.

I hope that makes sense?

Many thanks,
Austin

How do I set my thumbnail to have the ‘medium’ image size?

My current shortcode is:

[wpdm_category id="wellbeing" cols="4" toolbar=0 items_per_page=20 template="toolkit" paging="1" login=1]

Hi Nayeem,

I noticed there was an update but this hasn’t fixed the issue?

As a result of this our website’s admin is loading very slowly because of all the duplicate images in the Media Library.

Thanks,
Austin

Hi Nayeem,

So please can you tell me how I get this to work?

I notice that when the shortcode shows ALL categories then sub-categories can be 2, 3, 4 etc levels deep and so on and this works perfectly.

Please can you tell me how I can target one category and then have it show all sub-categories in the dropdown?

For example, I have two top level categories:

1. ECGs
2. Holters

Within both there are up to three levels of sub-categories. I’d like to be able to create a page for both and have the dropdown display all sub-categories (one where it displays all sub-categories for ECGs, and the other page showing only sub-categories for Holters).

Even if there is a way where I have to manually add in each category and sub-category into the shortcode, that would be fine. I just need to find a way to make it work please.

Many thanks,
Austin

Hi again,

I have created an account with the above link and your directory test only contains ONE sub category level.

That is the issue I am having. I need the shortcode to be able to specify one category and then ALL sub categories inside it (including second, third, fourth sub-levels)

Thanks

Hi Nayeem,

Sorry I think maybe I wasn’t clear. With template tags and shortcodes, doesn’t this mean I would need to create a separate WordPress page for each category? I want to avoid the need to create 50+ pages.

This link is quite close to what I’m trying to achieve:
https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com/archive-page-compact/

There is a dropdown that lets you filter between categories. I’d like this but instead of a dropdown I would have it as a menu in the sidebar.

I’m wondering if this is possible with any of your add-ons? Or if not, is there a way to do this by editing template files?

Thank you

Hi Nayeem,

I have uploaded some images through WordPress into the ‘download-manager-files’ folder and then added the path into my csv file (ie. https://mv-demo.co.uk/taaf-toolkit/wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files/taaf-logo.png) but this does not fix the issue.

When I do the above, the download button on the website takes me to a 403 Forbidden page telling me I don’t have permissions to access the file.

I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding, but is there any way to stop files opening as attachments when they have been added by a csv file?

Thanks

Hi Nayeem,

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve already tried using the sample.csv but this was the cause of the problems in my initial post.

I had uploaded my downloads into the media manager and then linked to them in the ‘files’ column in the csv file. You then pointed out that this is why my downloads are opening as attachments rather than downloading to the user’s computer.

You said that the way around this is to use the ‘select from server’ button, but unless I’ve misunderstood, this would mean I can’t bulk upload using the csv file.

Essentially my question is: is it possible to bulk upload through a csv file while ensuring that any files will be downloaded rather than opening as an attachment?

Many thanks

Hi Nayeem,

I’m good thanks and hope you are too.

Thanks, but is there a way to do this through an import file? We ideally would want to add links to the files in the spreadsheet and then after the import, each file would download to the user’s computer, rather than open as an attachment.

Or can this only be done by manually going into each download and using the ‘Select from Server’ button?

Thank you

Hi Nayeem,

Apologies for the late reply.

I think I understand but please let me know if not. When you say ‘server file browser’ are you referring to the Digital Asset Manager?

So what I think you are saying is that, instead of uploading to the media library, I should go to Downloads > Asset Manager and upload the files through there?

If so, how would I then find the path for each file?

Thank you,
Austin

Hi Nayeem,

All good thanks and hope you are too.

Yes, I couldn’t find a way to delete the thread but I found a solution here:
