If you see the screenshot, it is putting the ID number in the file name. How do I stop this from happening? It does not do it with all files – so I am umsure what is causing it
Okay I have manually changed the publish date so that I can manipulate the order. But when I change one of my downloads to have a publish date of 2024 (so that it forces it to the end of the list) it does not update and when I click into the download it still says the original date.
Is there a way to make your plugin realise the updated publish date for any downloads?
Thanks,
Austin
Okay that’s strange but no problem. Please can you tell me what order it displays in by default?
Hi Nayeem,
What are you asking me to check? Is it possible to change the order that they appear in?
Thanks,
Austin
Hi Nayeem,
1. I have done that. There is a setting on each download called ‘Single File Download’. How do I change the global setting for this?
2. Where do I find the HTML file and create a template override?
3. I have set Allow Access to just the ‘whatmore’ user, so how come I can still visit the single page using a private browser window when not logged in? I need this to NOT be accessible by the public
Thanks,
Austin
Sorry I’m not sure what you mean.
What I would like to do is have the download list display as categories that you can click into, rather than a huge list of downloads. Is this possible?
I’ve tried changing it from:
[wpdm_my_downloads login=1]
to:
[wpdm_my_downloads login=1 wpdm_category]
When I login it still shows files rather than categories though. Any idea how to get it to show categories that are assigned to the user?
Thanks
Okay thanks Nayeem.
There is one other thing please.
I have purchased this plugin: WPDM – Advanced Access Control
Is there a way for my page to display the categories I have set up rather than a long list of files?
Thanks
Hi Nayeem,
I’m all good thank you and hope you are too.
Thank you for the quick reply.
Yes that’s what I’d like please. On my test page, the zip file is called ‘Test Download’, and inside it are four files:
animation.jpg
audio-visual.jpg
branding.jpg
direct-mail.jpg
So when using the dynamic search bar, I would like to be able to search ‘animation’ and it would show ‘Test Download’ in the results because it is a file within the zip file.
Hope that makes sense, and is this possible please?
Thank you,
Austin
Hi Tanvir,
My question is how are visitors still able to download things when the downloads can only be accessed when logged in?
Thanks,
Austin
Thanks Tanvir,
I will bear that in mind for futute.
My question though, is if users must register to access pages with downloads, how are visitors still able to download things?
Thanks,
Austin
Hi Tanvir,
Apologies for the late reply and many thanks for the help here.
The front end of the website is now loading much, much faster!
Thanks again,
Austin

If you login through the front end you can then access the backend with the toobar.
Here is an example page: https://activeimages.info/active-toolkit/
It is a list of images and to reduce page speed I would like to set the images as ‘medium’.
I hope that makes sense?
Many thanks,
Austin
How do I set my thumbnail to have the ‘medium’ image size?
