Hi there, please ignore my last question, I have managed to display the button using the single package shortcode nicely.
The email lock load and modal I would still like to customise though, I can change the buttons in the settings > user interface option, but not the purple title text etc.
Thanks,
Ben
Hi there,
I’ve checked this with my hosting company and it still doesn’t seem to be working.
Can you please take a look as it doesn’t seem to be generating the correct URL’s to get the packages.
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Shafayet,
1. Thanks for adding that option to their email, that’s awesome!
2. I will check the permissions on my folders on the server and see what might be up.
Much appreciated.
Ben
Hi there, any chance you could take a look at this please?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi there, you’re saying ‘Okay now.’ but when I go and test it’s not working still.
Now instead of coming up with ‘Unauthorised Access’ i’m just getting a broken link instead of the package downloading.
You can go and test this on the package that I think you tested with last time, it doesn’t download the package file.
Please can you advise what the issue with this is as I need to know for future updates, I can’t have it break every time I upgrade the plugin version.
Thanks,
Ben
You have just created a package that is free to download. As my previous post said, we have the access control system in place that I had you guys build. That’s what is not working.
User goes to package, requests access, eg:
https://www.jacobi.net/library/jacobi-tds-aquasorb-3500-a4-eng-c1016/
The request comes through to the wordpress back-end. (See previously supplied wordpress logins)
Password is granted, user has to go to the download area:
https://www.jacobi.net/download-area/
When entering the password it will then login and show the package, but when they click to download all they get is ‘Unauthorized Access’
Give it a try, let me know if you can replicate.
Thanks,
Ben
Hi there, i’ve checked with my hosts and ‘Session’ is enabled.
I’m still getting ‘Unauthorised Access’ when entering our download area and entering the password i’ve set.
Please can you advise?
For your testing:
Library Package:
https://www.jacobi.net/library/jacobi-tds-aquasorb-3500-a4-eng-c1016/
If you request access via the form then login and set a password, go to the download area:
https://www.jacobi.net/download-area/
Try your password and you’ll see it won’t download the package.
This is one of the 2 installs I have of WPDM and i’m on the latest version I could download from my customer area.
Please advise the issue.
Thanks,
Ben
Sorry Shaon…when you say ‘session’ what do you mean?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi there,
I have updated my plugin version on jacobi.net to v.4.6.7.
The package page template has changed slightly from our custom one which I can fix fairly easily but now the access request doesn’t seem to be working.
The form on the package submits okay, the request shows in the admin, but when I issue a password and go to download the package it just says ‘Unauthorized Access’.
Please can you advise the issue?
Example package: http://www.jacobi.net/library/1503-hwf-presentationx/
Hi Shahriar,
Do I just do that with each installation of WPDM I have?
I’m not sure what you customised with the core plugin for WPDM so am I safe to update to latest versions then just make this change each time?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Shaon, I had a patched version that you supplied to me specifically.
Please can you supply me with the correct version of the plugin that will keep whatever customisations your team did, I have another website it is installed on. (jacobi.net)
I have included WP login details for that site below in private information in case you need to go and do the update/fix there.
What was the issue so I know for future if it happens?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Shahriar,
Lets chat on Skype to run through which part I would like your help with,
We are working on getting as far as populating the .csv and setting up a chron job to run that will upload the data. We need some information on how to push the data into the system and overwrite the existing packages.
I’m available on Skype at any time.
Thanks,
Ben
Hey Shahriar, yeah we’re going to have an issue staying sync’d with the Box repositories due to their file names changing.
I have an idea for a customisation, do you think this would work.
1. Create a scheduled bulk .csv import that overwrites all packages once every 7 days.
2. We can run a little script that will populate the .csv file with the required fields for package name, categories, version number etc. based on Box and our server ftp sync.
3. Due to your password customisation we won’t have to worry about access details for packages.
So essentially it’s like creating a weekly sync routine.
Do you think you guys could think up something to help me out with this, we were just about to run a bulk import for 1600 packages that would have worked nicely with our previous syncing method from Box > FTP but now we found out the file names are going to change from Box we are stuck.
Let me know what you think, happy to have a Skype chat whenever you are free!
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Shaon,
Thanks for the update!
I’m glad you think my method will work okay, i’ve setup a trial set of packages and it seems to be working so far with the automated ftp update running. The next bit is going to be doing the bulk import of all the files, some of the file names are a bit crazy so should be interesting copying and pasting all of them into a bulk upload csv!
As for the approval method for access I think I might build something custom for this myself using a set of passwords that are issued manually as this might be the best way for them to manage access across the entire company.
If I have any queries with the bulk upload i’d appreciate you taking a look at my .csv file when I have it populated.
Other than that keep up the good work with the plugin and thanks for your response!
Ben.
