Done!
Shahjada you legend! That did it, thank you!
Hi Shahjada, We worked on this for several days and determined your plugin (FormLock) is not capable of the functionality we’re looking for. Nayeem suggested it might be something you would be able to add to a future version of the plugin. I don’t think you need my (live) site to be the test platform to develop such functionality and so I’ve disabled the login.
Please let me know when this functionality is available (the ability to pass the package name through the form).
Thank you!
OK, I guess if you can not figure out how to help me resolve this issue we can close this ticket. For now Download Manager and the FormLock add-on do not do what I had hoped it could (pass the package name through the form), but hopefully what I paid for will be rewarded with a future update to the plugin whereby the package name can be passed.
Yes, please forward the request to make this a standard part of the functionality – your customers will thank you! Please also let me know what we can do to remedy this situation sooner rather than later?
I saw your test and see that you can not get it to work either. A you can see because I gave you access, [wpdm_package_title] is what we have in place and it does not work. We also modified the file wpdm-form-lock.php on line 160 to support this.
To save a lot of back-and-forth, can you please try to get this to work on your test servers and share the solution? Everything we (you and I) have tried to date has not been successful.
Being able to pass the name of the package should be a standard feature to this plugin.
I don’t know what you mean? I have been able to download without issue. Pleas re-read this ticket. I can not pass the name of the package in the confirmation email.
This is what one of those emails looks like…
First name: Joe
Last Name: Blow
Email: joeblow@gmail.com
Company: Joe Blow Inc
Title: Owner
Country: United States
Hidden Field: 748
Package Title: [wpdm_package_title]
We need the package title to display the name of the package (not the shortcode).
I’m not sure what template tag is, but we’re using Default template.
I just tried this and it broke the download and name of the package was not passed in the notification. I can live with the way it is right now, but I would think passing the package name would be functionality most people would want. Would you guys ever consider just making it apart of the formlock plugin?
Hi Nayeem,
Yes, we pass [wpdm_package_id] in the form using a hidden value so Download Manager knows which file to provide for download. But that doesn’t help my customer who would need to know that package ID 667 = “White Paper A” or that package ID 714 = “White Paper D” and so on. There are dozens of downloads and growing and we need the name of the file or the name of the package to pass to the customer so they know exactly what was downloaded when reading the notification email that a file was downloaded by a potential customer.
This should be default functionality and I’ve seen other threads where this is difficult to implement and I’d hoped since I saw those tickets (~3 years old) someone there had addressed this issue so there’s a simple way to implement it?
Thank you, that clarified the issue (the dev site was licensed and not the live site) and I saw how to remedy it. You can close this ticket.
I paid for renewal in January, why would I pay it twice? I have a VALID license – how can I get your plugin software to recognize it?
OK, great and thank you!
Thank u, what was the issue?
Thanks for answering part of my question. Can you let me know why we see the message ‘if you do not see your order’ because when we add the product to the shop it does not show in the cart. I will post a private reply so you can see.
If I just use CAPTCHA I can not capture the users email nor provide them with the link. If I just use CAPTCHA I get a message ‘undefined’ and so I switched back to both email lock and CAPTCHA and would like to know your recommended path forward.
Yes, it still allows the user to submit their name and email and download the file. I will send credentials in a private reply.
LOL – sorry Borhan. I need this weekend!
Hi Borhan,
Where can I find ‘Download’ to follow the path you provided to the template? I don’t see it in the frontend or FTPing to the plugin. If it is a template edit via FTP I would want to do so in my child theme.
I can change the title, I changed it to ‘Enter Details To Download’ but it still says ‘subscribe to download’ which is an issue for us (GDRP). I also changed the Message after submit to remove the word subscribe. These changes show on the backend, but not on the frontend (cache cleared, separate systems tested).
