Sorry, late respons.
If anyone wants to know:
Yes the swedish language-file seems to work ok still, even thou a lot is missing in the backend, but I have no problem with that, most important is frontend is translated. And since our download section is pretty basic in the frontend it worked fine.
OK, thank you, now I have payed for another year.
Also downloaded 4.6.6 and deleted, uploaded and installed it the old way, and that seems to be working fine now.
(I always have problem to remember where to find that “Renew now”-button, probably because (if I remember correctly) it is not possible to see that button until after the support has expired (true?). Other plugins send me an email-notice before expire date “your support/pro plugin is about to expire, click here to update (before it expires) and you will get a discount”… I like that.)
No thank you, I don´t like doing that. I will wait for others to test updating and later I will update the old crappy way by deleting, downloading, re-installing, re-installing po and mo, and so on…
What about our license is expiring, where and how do I pay for another year? Will you send me a email with billing-info?
Thank you so much for this!! Helped me too. Now I could get rid of the Create date and put in the more interesting File size.
WPDM it would be VERY GOOD if you in the documentation about All-packages could write wich code is possible to use (like “package_size” and more), like you have done with template tags. Or is it maybe exactly the same?
Would also save you a lot of support questions to write a bit more documentation about how to customize All-package lists…
I finally found the solution!
We use a child theme to fix the all-package-table as we like it to look, so we had copied some WPDM PHP-files to our child theme one year ago and customezed them a little. With the new update and your re-written code of version 4.5 I guess our changes doesn´t match any more. I have now removed all our customized WPDM PHP-files from our child theme and now the icons are there as they should in the table! Yeah! (But in admin – all packages, icons are broke! But I don´t care about that.)
But now I have to try to do our customizations again in copies of the new WPDM PHP-files…
I just want a simple list with title and download, no categories, or create date, maybe latest change date instead. As far as I remember these things had to be hard coded in the PHP file in a child theme. I have to search again for how to do that… Would be great if you could add info about how to customize it in the wpdm-all-packages-shortcode docs page.
This thread is “solved”.
No thanks. (Summer vacation coming up.) I will try to solve this myself, somehow.
I end this thread now, but it would be nice to know if there still is something about this that you will fix/change it in a later version…
Yes! Updated to 4.5.6 and now Top Download widget is back and working again.
Thanks.
So I have updated from 4.5.5 to 4.5.6 but I see no change!
All icons are still gone in this shortcode [wpdm-all-packages categories="XXX-manual" items_per_page="10" order_by="title" order="asc"]
Yes, I have cleared every cache I can find and cleared browser and logged out and in. Still the same as in 4.5.5.
I can re-apply (for example) a PDF-icon to a file, and then it is showing (because you changed the file path in version 4.5.5). But I thought you would come up with some solution to the problem, so I don´t have to go thru every file and re-apply the icons one by one…
But I think I give up and do that manually, its faster than writing to this support and waiting for a solution…
Do you have any exciting news about when this bug is gonna be fixed…? Have I missed the update somehow?
Hi, in the thread below you say there is a WPDM update coming within one week. Will this line fix also be included in that update?
(It sounds like it should be.) If so, maybe I can wait and live without icons for a couple of days…
Good. I can wait for it a couple of days.
IMPORTANT:
I now see that icons are working in this shortcode [wpdm_package id='XXX'] after update, no problem with them… (as far as I can see)
But the problem appears in this shortcode [wpdm-all-packages categories="XXX-manual" items_per_page="10" order_by="title" order="asc"], and this is the most important shortcode that we use the most.
Sorry for the <SPAN>, the text is:
“From Download Manager Settings, check the option “Open in Browser” and save settings”
Can´t find the option…
I haven´t had the time to update to 4.3.0 yet and now I wonder, is this “minor” PDF-icon-update fixed now if I download WPDM 4.3.0, or will there be an 4.3.1-update in the next few days?
(I am always a bit afraid of zero-versions…)
Hi, is the “order by title” fixed now in All Packages, with the latest new release of WPDM?
We temporarly used your file above, in our child theme. If it is in the new release, can we remove it now?
Ok, thanks.
Hi again, I am waiting for the plugin update “within next few days” as mentioned above. Will there be an update this week?!
Good, I wait for update if it not takes too long.
And what does that mean for us, should we wait for the next update to get this fixed? Or do you need our login too?
Hi again, sounded so good, but it is not working, nothing changes.
My code looks like this
[wpdm-all-packages categories="bas2-xl13-modul-produktdatablad" items_per_page="10" order_by="title" order="asc"]
Nothing happens, it does not get alphabetical. I have tried other fields options, nothing changes from default date order.
See page where code is used on all, still date order: http://www.bastec.se/products/bas2-xl13/
What is wrong?
Thank you! Sounds like a good solution.
Thanks, I will contact you again if we need your help with that, but we have to think about it first. And we also have found a workaround since this started… (but it would have gone faster and smoother if we could have seen the templates of course).
I will also contact them again, because I think I have a similar problem with another plugin. That one too is not showing the preview of templates! But it does on another installation on another server. So I am also convinced now the problem is with WPEngine.
This thread is kind of “solved” now I guess.
Hi, seems like this is leading nowhere. This is the answer I got from WPEngine:
“Unfortunately that still doesn’t give us a lot to go off of. Making a change to our MU-plugin is a serious endeavor since it affects all of our customers. Also, making a change just to your site isn’t an option since the scripts we run on the server daily would just undo those changes. The burden to resolve this will unfortunately fall on the developer.”
Okej, so I have asked WP Engine if there is a problem with wpe-common.css and Download Manager. They can´t see why it should be, since many other are using WPDM and WP Engine without reporting this or other compability problem. But they need to know more details, can you give some more info on what the problem is so they can troubleshoot better?
Changes:
after the last update of WPDM the black screen is somewhat changed!
Before I could see the panel, now that is black too! But instead I can see a little bit of the template. That makes me think the problem is within WPDM, not WP Engine… (see atached file)
Ok done.
