Hi Shaon,

unfortunately it is not possible to provide even temporary access to the server and the wp backend due to harsh security regulations. login onto the server itself – and thus the companies intranet – requires a secured physical token based vpn connection.

We did set a host entry for wpdownloadmanager.com and poited it to localhost, so the ajax-request does not wait for timeout anymore but fails with a 404 immediatly. This does solve the problem of the overall slow backend, but still wont change the problem with the handling of the license key i guess.

From studying previous posts in this forum I learned that the reason for a very slow backend would be our servers inability to use cURL and/or reach the domain wpdownloadmanager.com (as we are in a secured intranet context). If that is the case, we are at least puzzled by the fact that these requirements are not mentioned anywhere, not even in the installation instructions in the docs section.

did we miss the rquirement information anywhere in the process?
