Hello all,
is there anything new on this topic already?
Kind regards,
Manuel
Hello Shahjada,
Thank you very much for your answer. It’s just that our customers receive a weekly status report on their website and it has been listed here for several days that there are security issues on their website: https://ibb.co/12C3KVR
Of course, our customers do not know whether these security issues affect the paid version of the “Download Manager” or the free version.
I would therefore be very pleased if this security issue could be resolved in an update of the free version (or in such a way that our tool no longer reports this alleged security issue).
I hope you can understand my problem. I would be very pleased to receive a short feedback.
Many thanks & best regards!
Yes, the issue also occurs with the free version.
I just saw that the problem has already been solved. You should update the “Download Manager Pro” plugin to the latest version.
However, we only use the free version on some websites. What is the solution for this?
Attached is a screenshot from our monitoring tool: https://ibb.co/h8W2qJR
Thank you very much – now it works!
The fact that the page is now displayed is because I removed the category that is probably responsible for this error.
As soon as I add the category “service-technik”, I get different error messages in the frontend and backend. From this I conclude that some file in this category leads to this error – could this be the case?
If so, could you please find out which file it is?
I don’t know why everything seems to work for you. In the end, however, I have to maintain the downloads and it’s no use to me if it works for you but not for me.
I’m sorry if I’m getting a little impatient now, but the ticket has already existed for almost 2 months and my problem still hasn’t been solved.
I have tested the BackEnd in various browsers, on various devices and I always get the error message “Service Unavailable”. Therefore, it is inexplicable to me why it apparently works for you and not for me.
I ask for a proper solution so that I can post downloads again as soon as possible. Otherwise, I’m afraid we’ll have to look for an alternative.
I have already created access data for the website and FTP data for you, which you can find further up in the ticket. If you need anything else from me, please let me know!
Unfortunately, I am still waiting for an answer. The project has been live since yesterday and of course I don’t want the downloads to only be accessible under the old URL.
I have now tried again and found that the downloads are no longer accessible until I execute the following SQL command in the database:
UPDATE wp_postmeta SET meta_value = replace(meta_value,'http://old.url','http://new.url');
Of course, I have adapted “old.url” and “new.url” to my URLs.
Before, all downloads were still linked, but after this command they were no longer. How can I correct this?
Does that mean I have to relink all the files?
Yes perfect, thank you very much!
That’s exactly what I was looking for!
Specifically, it is about this page: http://wordpress.p568699.webspaceconfig.de/downloads/ (Password: WETRA2020)
I can’t enter this page, I’ve written that twice now. As soon as I click on “Downloads”, a “critical error” is displayed. So I can’t adjust the number of downloads per page either, because I can’t even get to this page.
I have asked you to take a look at it live, then you will know what I mean.
Thank you.
What should I do with this screenshot? I wrote that I get an error message as soon as I click on the “Downloads” item. The downloads area can no longer be accessed.
I know how to set the number of downloads to be displayed per page myself…
Please log in to the BackEnd and click on the “Download” area, then you will see what I mean.
Thank you.
Hello,
after adjusting the “wp_memory_limits” it basically worked. However, now, about a month later, I get an error message again.
When I click on the item “Downloads” in the BackEnd, I get another error message:
—
There was a critical error on your website. Please check the inbox of your website administrator email address for further instructions.

I have a hunch that it’s because of a particular download file. When I add it to a page, the page no longer runs. Is there a way to delete downloads without using the BackEnd? Maybe via FTP or WP CLI?
As soon as I deactivate the plugin, everything works without problems.
I would be very happy if you could take a look at this. The access data to the website as well as FTP data can be found in this ticket above.
I would be very happy about a feedback!
Kind regards,
Manuel Schöttle
I ask that this problem be fixed promptly, or that debug mode only be activated when work is being done on the website, as this poses a risk of hacking attacks.
The debug mode has already been activated for 3 days without anything having been done about this issue.
Hey Shahjada,
thank you so much for your commitment. We have to ask our customer on monday if he deleted the pro plugin. But I’m almost sure he didn’t.
I checked the download area and everything works as usual.
Best regards, Tom
