Any update on this one?
Thanks, Shahriar, that worked. The last thing I need is to change the text on the “Download” button, but I don’t see how to do that in the code fort the template: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tnn4z03z1gktn1x/Screenshot%202019-02-18%2008.38.14.png?dl=0. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Thanks Shahriar, I can’t get the link templates to take effect.
Changing this, in Downloads–>Settings, does nothing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nlxw03pwfb1fzth/Screenshot%202019-02-15%2010.56.17.png?dl=0.
Also, changing this, in the individual package file, has no effect: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p85glrc8zu0vz10/Screenshot%202019-02-15%2010.58.35.png?dl=0
Can you advise? Thank you!
Understood, no problem. Just wanted to be sure I understood. Thank you very much!
Thanks, Shahriar. This worked! Much appreciated.
I edited the file at plugins–>wpdm-archive-page. What is best practice–should I move that file to the download-manager directory in my child theme folder, or keep it where it is?
Thanks!
Hey, this is coming together nicely!
http://mccccomm.wpengine.com/resource-library/
Love the category-cloud thing. Didn’t know that was possible, and it answers a specific question that my client had, so I’m excited to show that. I have two more items I’d appreciate help with.
First, you’ll see here that I’ve added a ton of categories for this project: http://take.ms/z2T9Lp. Lots of parent/child relationships there, but those don’t translate to the dropdown: http://take.ms/LBa8c. Is there a way to do that? I’ve not been able to get it working…
Second, when a user clicks on one of the categories below that, they get a listing page (as expected). Is there a way to change what page template that uses? I want to use one that doesn’t have the sidebar: http://take.ms/nygXJ.
Almost there…thanks again!
Yes! Both are what I was looking for.
I’ll grab the add on and should be able to wrap this project up.
Thanks very much!
Ah, thank you for doing that! I should’ve checked before posting.
I do have two more questions.
First: is there a way to implement a category listing? Ideal would be: dropdown with all categories that, when selected, displays only downloads in that category.
Second: is there a demo of all the built-in templates somewhere so I can quickly see what best fits my needs?
Thank you very much!
Thanks, Hasibul. To be clear, you uploaded your test file via http://bcommunitysite.staging.wpengine.com/upload-a-resource/ and it worked?
I have not been able to recreate that success with your login or mine. Can you tell me what you did?
Thanks!

Hi Hasibul,
I did all of these things but setting permissions, and the same behaviors persist.
I am using WPEngine for hosting, and it seems I cannot set the folder permissions to 755 because they do not allow that.
Do you know of a workaround? WPEngine is pretty popular, so hoping this issue has been handled before.
Thank you again!

Thanks, Hasibul.
When I go to the download page, I see the following: https://www.evernote.com/l/AO6A49B4H-lKdJKy7khT_-ml5j6fb_vB–c.
I do not see wp-content->uploads->download-manager-files: https://www.evernote.com/l/AO58h5Ql82BL17IpTbubArpSHemV83WCU-c
Other files that I’ve uploaded via the backend are available and successfully download from here: https://www.evernote.com/l/AO6x8zeczmlOF62ncE4V2Y7f_qW8OG3UIYk
Is there other info I can offer that would be helpful? Thank you!
