I do agree that this plugin has its fair share of bugs, but I have to disagree with you that it should be error free. No plugin/software is error-free. Combine that with the fact that there are so many plugins out there that can potentially cause other plugins to not work correctly. I’m not necessarily defending this software. I have encountered bugs but for the most part, the plugin seems to work okay. But you can’t just report a site because parts of its software is buggy.
Mm… just took this off the adsense page :
“Ads are not permitted in any window that is not initiated by a user’s click. Additionally, we do not permit ads to be placed in any window which lacks navigational controls, including back and forward browse buttons, and an editable URL field. AdSense ad code may also not be implemented on webpages where navigational elements have been removed.”
So does this mean that putting ads in the template isn’t allowed?
Okay, using the ad code with the page template is not working. I can see the ad on the regular page, but not when it comes up via javascript. Any ideas?
I just applied to adsense, waiting to hear back from them now.
However, I just wanted to make sure that this was allowed according to the adsense policy.
Does anyone else here put adsense ad script in this area?
Okay, it didn’t work with the other ad script that I had used, but I will try it with the adsense script in a week or two, thanks!
Also, I haven’t yet signed up, but would it be possible to display adsense ads up on the popup?
Ah okay, never mind, I examined the log further and saw that it was triggered by the download button linking to an invalid url. Then in the 30secs after, it generated what seems to be 80mbs of text error lol.
No problems here.
something else that’s similar to this problem :
For downloads that are password protected, when the user quota for the limit is exceeded, even though the button saids “download exceeded”, the button still can be pressed, and the password field will show. Though once the password is typed, it will lead to a page that saids ‘download exceeded’. Not a huge problem, though not having that password field appear once the limit is exceeded would be ideal.
Thanks for your help!
okay, thanks!
Hi,
My site is not yet active, but if you go to
http://dev.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/premium-template/
the same problem is there. When you type in the password and click submit, it saids “processing” and it’s okay. But if you press the enter button instead, it gives you an error, firefox and ie displays the error differently, but it doesn’t go through.
ah i see, okay, i thought it came bundled. Thanks for the answer.
Can I delete the words here or replace it with text of my own?
Anyone help? =o
Okay, I think I found a workaround, for those interested.
It’s not really the most ideal solution so if there’s another way, please let me know.
Basically, the solution that seems to work is to password protect the file. The password url string seems to be random and expires quickly so users can’t just type in the id.
So I guess this would work better as a sort of captcha code, anyone know how to edit so it displays that instead of “password” on the front end?
Or, perhaps better, is there a way to not show the link url when users mouse over the download button?
Mm.. the problem doesn’t seem to be with the ckeditor plugin, I’ve disabled it but the button still doesn’t show. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
