let me know if you manage to resolve this – I still can’t get over this problems weeks after it started
it’s so interesting – when I had the same issue a month ago, I was told in by support they have less than 10 people with this problem – i.e. it’s an irregularity , singular point.
I’ve registered for notifications and in the passing 2-3 weeks over 20 support requests were about invalid license key
so I guess everyone has a CURL problem? it can’t be a bug on Shaon’s side right?
stretching?
non-existent or useless is more like it.
Hi @Shaon
I’ll address the options one by one:
1) version (from download-manager.php) – “define(‘WPDM_Version’,’4.6.3′);” – is that sufficient proof I’m on latest version? if not let me know where to go search/what to get
2) curl not active – please see these proofs of viability:
– “in the clear” curl : https://www.homeownersmarketingservices.com/curlhttp.php
– SSL based curl: https://www.homeownersmarketingservices.com/curlhttps3.php
Both GET this url “www.wpdownloadmanager.com/terms-and-conditions” so you can see for yourself by trying them
3) server firewall blocking wpdownloadmanager.com – N/A
– I don’t have a firewall on this server, we have a firewall at the egress of our network aggregating traffic
– I can reach wpdownloadmanager.com from any computer on that network, including the server itself – isn’t that a proof?
4) license key applied in a site – I guess you mean another site..?
well, I just purchased, downloaded and tried to activate it – so unless you sold it twice… it’s the only use its ever seen
ALSO – TO REMIND YOU WHY I AM HERE – I had version 2.9 working fine, until one day I worked on the download dashboard and it said “license invalid” (which is another sign for you the change that broke it was not on my side..) – so I bought the latest in hope it will solve it
SO – what’s my next move?
send you my license key?
Michael, please let us know if you got this resolved and how.
Many including my server suffered the same thing – one day an existing product became “unlicensed” and then buying the latest 6.4.3 with a new key didn’t work either.
Turning to support was useless – after no agreeing to let them have unlimited access to the server whenever they want to get in and do whatever, they basically told me it’s my firewall or CURL not working b/c all they did was change the license server from http to https but I haven’t heard since, so it’s kind of “my way or highway”
I intend to use a packet sniffer and get to see what traffic goes when trying to validate the key and perhaps then I’ll have more understanding.
good luck!
Please update when you have progress in this issue.
I have the same issue and am not able to get WPDM support to respond beyond:
– give me root access to your server (ain’t gonna happen)
– well it was already activated elsewhere (no can do – only have one website)
– your firewall is blocking us (shouldn’t happen – b/c if the connection starts from within the protected subnet (my server) than firewall will allow responses back) – however – they won’t explain what they mean by that – PLUS I never had a problem until the upgrade
– they say no change of code in their side, just changed HTTP license server connection to HTTPS
please let all of us know if you got this resolved, it will help
I’ve downloaded Version 4.6.3 (removed old plugin folder , imported the latest and started from scratch) – and still have the same issue
am I not running your latest?
can you instead point to the actual .php file and actual function in which you implement the conn to the license server?
it should be very easy based on what you’re saying to see if there’s a HTTP or HTTPS based URL and appropriately even fix the situation.
Mine is still broken with 4.6.3 and clean install (WP4.7.3)
I have the same problem
What strikes me as outrageous, is that the only way out is “provide admin access”….
Can’t you provide a procedure to verify/check ourselves?
We can handle PHP debug or anything else you need changed in order to bring about verbose modes or logs that will help.
Usually when the only way is to have someone take over your site, it’s done in a joint (webconf) like session.
Would you be ok if your plumber said – want me to fix the pipe? get out of your house, leave me the keys under the mat and I’ll let you know when you can come back.
REALLY?
You should check the forum, you are not the only one – seems like many people who bought new license have the same issue – they plug it in and it says “invalid license”.
What strikes me as outrageous, is that supports only response is “provide admin access”….
So that’s like your plumber saying – want me to fix the pipe? get out of your house, leave me the keys under the mat and I’ll let you know when you can come back.
REALLY?
