I just have the exact same problem too. At first, which file did you edit to get the german translations for Files, Categories, Created … I would like to show the german words, but I couldn’t find a way to do this for now.
The sort function does not work at my wordpress site too. It is in fact a huge problem, because I want to show all downloads in just one list. An alphabetical order would be very nice and a great help for others to get to the right files at least.
