I decided not to use that code in the wp-config.php after all and simply listed it as a necessary cookie.
Thanks!
Is the “__wpdm_client” cookie considered a neccesary cookie that doesn’t require consent? If that is the case, I could list it in my Cookie Policy and be OK.
Thank you for your quick reply!
Yes, we are precisely reviewing this issue to be GDPR compliant. And I don’t know how to allow for the user to accept or deny that specific cookie before it is installed.
¿Is there a way? (I am using Moove’s GDPR cookie plugin).
The downloads are available to logged in users.
Hello! I don’t see that option in my settings…
That is very kind of you! I am not sure I should make any important changes like this right before the event which starts tomorrow though, and lasts all weekend, during which time we will be uploading files periodically.
So, I will get back to you next week so we can test it out.
Thank you!
Thanks for your reply!
it seems a bit complicated for me, i would hate to “break” something, since it is working perfectly right now.
Thanks though!
ETA:
Regarding PDFs that are to be downloaded only when entering a password:
From what I was able to test, if someone downloads a file (having entered the password), they view the PDF in a new window. They can copy that URL and pass it on to someone else.
If that other person pastes that URL directly into their browser, they get the PDF directly, without being asked for the password.
I wasn’t able to test this. But it’s OK! I did program the Publication time, and it worked.
Yes, but I would prefer not to buy it for only ONE time that I need to do this.
Do you know if saved as a DRAFT the pdf file can still be viewed if someone has a direct link to the file?
Yes, but on the other site that is also two languages, using polylang, I can use the same category in the widget and it displays on both languages, I don’t get the “category not found message”
Yes, that makes sense.
It’s interesting though that this isn’t an issue if using the tree category extension (as you can see in the widget here http://www.rallyenaron.com
Thanks
Hi
i appreciate your help…
but what you did is what I had done already: create two differente categores, one for each language.
but I was hoping I could use the same category for all languages, ie, to insert this shortcode
[wpdm_category id="test-esp-cat" order="desc" template="link-template-default-wdc" cols=1 colspad=1 colsphone=1]
on both the spanish and gallego pages
(and show the same spanish PDFs on both)
So… Thanks anyway! It seems it must interpret paths or something (parent pages… not sure) so that if the shortchode uses the spanish category, when used on the gallego pages, we get the message “category not found”.
I will simply have to rememeber to upload the files twice, and assign each one its different category.
