So I have purchased the search feature downloads archive add-on.
I am hoping to add a couple of fields to the downloads and make them searchable for example I have a range slider for serial numbers as an advanced custom field added to the page, what is the best way to hook this into the advanced search and results page? I was hoping to customize this search. I have experience with web design and development just looking for some guidance.
also
to change the search results and search template am I able to copy them into my child theme to avoid issues with updates etc ? can you provide some guidance with this please ?
