Hi, what kind of setup is this? If the plugin forbid to delete the file simply disallow to click on delete icon and even if user click on delete should see a message like “impossible to delete” or “you are not allowed to delete this file”. Right now nothing of this happens and user can click on delete, see the file deleting so he assume that he delete successfully but when reload the page he find again the file. You think that it works fine? Are you really sure?
Hi, this is not completely exact because other user can click on delete icon and see the message of deleting package, what the sense of this? If works like you said the plugin have to forbidden other user to delete the other package.
Yes, thanks.
Best regards
Hi, this a simply a logical suggestion to improve your plugin. In this moment it works not well in this sense. Bye!
Hi, very bad news. This is a must have feature. So if user receive a lot of packages assigned only to him he cannot search and find easily. No
Good!
Hi, yes exactly. So user will get soon that the package is added successfully.
Best regards
Hi, you have add always public package, the issue is when the package is assigned to some member. I edited your package “WPDM TEST” so selected 2 members to this package. Now try to login with your author test user and go to https://www.mediaced.it/cerca/. You won’t find this package.
Try with author or agent user, won’t work.
Yes, I did.
Hi, so weird because I gave that permission already.
Thanks

Hi, i sue already that add-on, simply. ask to search the member(s) to assign to the package by real name and not username like work right now. If you add an option the add-on settings where admin can choose how to search the members (username or real name) would be very great.
That’s it!
Best regards
Hi, now it works. What’s was wrong?
Thanks.
Best regards
For the first I have already that add-on and I enabled as well, for the second I have this setting already in that way but once I add a package I don’t see this so I cannot edit.
Hi, about the first point I know what you said but I think that the access doesn’t work in logical way.
In your example: Package Access = Package Access + All Category Access = All Visitors + Author = All Visitors. So why do I need to select author if the package will be for all visitors? However I am talking to set access to specific member by selecting his username and not the role but I am afraid that your plugin work in the same way. So I repeat: I don’t see any reason to select role or member in add package form if these don’t do any effect. For this I asked the feature about point 3 and honestly I think should be already, because assigning a category to the package make useless the other more specific accesses like role(s) and member(s).
About the point 2 I am talking about the notification mail “new package added” to send to the member selected so he know that there is a new package added for him. I hope it’s clearer.
For the last: how user who added a package and selecting a specific member can edit this? I noticed that once I added this package with that access he cannot see this on frontend so he cannot edit for every reason. It is necessary that at least who added package can see it and manage it (edit, delete…).

About the Author dashboard I set the same role accusing on front end in the Front-end Administrator Roles field.
Other 3 issues:
1) The user add package on front end and share it to a specific member cannot see anymore this package on frontend, only the user assigned can see it. So how the user who added this package want edit this package maybe because want assign to other user? It is useful that user role can manage and add packages on front end can see, edit and maybe delete the packages added.
2) The user assigned to the package don’t receive any notification mail to advise new package has been assigned to him
3) If choosing a category make the package adding as publish or as is set on the category option why the plugin allow to select a member on add package form? This can make confused who add package. In this case, if the ACL of your plugin works like I got, once user select the category the plugin must forbidden to select member(s) and role(s). Correct?
Best regards
Hi, to understand better. If I assign the package to some category there isn’t any possibility to assign the package to a member? I suppose the assign the package to member(s) always override the ACL. I work only by share packages to specific members, in my case the public package are rare. So do I have to avoid to use categories in this case?
About the second question you can access to my backed with admin credentials I sent you already. However if I cannot delete so better see a message I cannot and not let me delete and after see the package again.
Best regards
Yes we do in the other thread.
Best regards
Yes works, but I found 2 bugs.
1) The access control works fine only if the package is not assigned to any category. For example if I add a package and select only one member to see and download it and I don’t assign any category to the package so only the member assigned will see and download it. But if I assign the package at least to one category all the members will see and download the package.
2) If I delete the file from user panel control on front end when I access again to the same page I’ll see again the file. To delete the file I have to do right from backend.
Hi, I downloaded and installed the latest version of access control add-on but the issue still remains. Stil other user can see and download the “test” file.
You can check it too.
Best regards.
Hi, I didn’t receive any notification about new updates on my backend of the WP site, but I run the “check updates” button on the updates of your plugin settings so I assume that I have already the latest version.
But I tried and the issue still are there. No Ajax search on add package on front end (only with administrator user works) and still the “test” file is shown to all members. You can check as well, maybe I miss something.
Thanks.
