I’ve tried this but been unsuccessful.

I created a new page template named page-template-default.php and stored it in ACTIVE_THEME/download-manager/page-template-default.php

I also tried storing it in ACTIVE_THEME/download-manager/page-templates/page-template-default.php.

Neither of these seemed to work.
