I have played around with it today to try and understand why it was working for one pakage and not the others.

I then thought to myself that you had changed the email lock settings on the renewable energy guide and then changed them back to ‘wait for approval’ again. I thought – could this be the issue?

So, i tried another guide where the notification was not working, and changed the settings and then changed them back again to wait for approval. It then worked!

I don’t know why or how, but it seems i needed to change the settings and then back again to how i wanted it set up for the email notifications to start coming through.

Finally, everything is working. I hope this explanation helps in case you come into the issue again in the future.

Hi Tahasin,

I have spoken with my developer today who has said we shouldn’t need to change the system admin to a gmail email address for the plugin to work, and this will impact our operations anyway since we don’t use gmail email addresses for our day to day work.

They have said it seems like there is an issue with the plugin that makes it so the need we purchased it for it unfortunately it isn’t fit for purpose.

Is it possible to be refunded for the cost of the plugin since it is not working?

I will try making my gmail email address the site admin and see if it works. If it does and then does that mean it’s an issue i need to take up with my IT department? Blocing certain emails from WordPress?

It’s still so odd it doesnt block them for the Reneewable Energy Guide but does for the rest.

I did receive one earlier in the day (11:22am UK time), but not recently no.

It is now 4:49pm so much earlier in the day.

Unfortunately, no emails have come through for those guides.

Do you know what the issue could be? It’s so weird that it’s only working for the Renewable Energy Guide isn’t it

I have just followed the instruction to clear the downloads cache and retested on the keeping people safe in cold stores guide and the email notification still hasnt come through :(.

Yes thank you – I received email notification for the test you created and for the renewable energy guide.

Sorry to be annoying but the other packages you clicked on are not actually used.

My issue is, our other guides that have to my understanding the exact same set up as both your test and the Renewable Enrgy Guide, but are not sending the notification emails to me. For example ‘Keeping People Safe in a Cold Store’: https://www.coldchainfederation.org.uk/compliance/health-safety-central-guidance/

The guide is set up the same, but i don’t receive any email notification to say a download request has been made. Same for the below guides that are active and have the email lock enabled and wait for approval.

Essentially only your test and the Renewable Energy Guide are sending the notifications. Is there something in the settings we need to switch on or something to work in each package for each guide? I just find it odd the two you have looked at are working, but the rest are not. Does that make sense? This is the full list of guides we have active and need the email notification to work for:

I am just coming back to this, I can’t understand why the test package you created, and the renewable energy guide you had a look at, are sending me email notifications, but not our other packages. Would it be possible for you to have a look for me?

In my mind it’s two guides you have looked at that are working, the rest are not. Was there something done differently to those two to make the plugin notification work for them? And does that need to be done for the other?

Very odd as I am not receiving any email notification to my email address apart from the Renewable Energy Guide one.

I have just tested another two of our guides, but i don’t get any email notification with them – it seems only with the Renewable Energy Guide.

I will update the admin email address to my own now so I can test it.

Was there any setting you changed on the Renewable Energy Guide so it emails the notifications now? I ask that because we have a number of guides we want to be notified about, so I am not sure if the email download notification will automatically apply to all of our guides, or if we need to activate something in each guides settings.

Sorry I’m not sure I understand.

So, will we only be able to be notified of a download if it is doesn’t have the email lock enabled?

All of our guides are locked off, so we can verify if the person requsting it is a member of ours. We were hoping that this plugin could email us to notify when someone requests to download it, so then we can either approve or decline depednign on thier membership status.

Does that make sense?

I’ve just tried to reqeust to download the renewable energy guide, and I didn’t receive any email notification. I want the notification to be set to my email address emily@coldchainfed.org.uk. I will just change this now as i think its set to Jane.
