Hi Humayon
As suggested, I have tried re-installing Dowload Manager and also the Premium Packages, which I then deactivated first. This seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for your help.
Bernie
Yet again, automatic update fails. Different reported reason this time.
This time the error is ‘The package could not be installed. The package contains no files’. Any ideas?
I don’t understand why update issues keep on coming up and have done for years with Download Manager? Download Manager causes me more problems and effort that all the rest of my site put together.
Update: So I checked my license and saved it. The DM update then worked. I am 100% sure that this is what I did a couple of weeks ago when DM crashed my site during an update – my license should still be saved and valid. I have changed nothing on my site in the interval, so the issues seems to be DM ‘forgetting’ that my license code is valid.
OK. I hope it will be fixed!
Thanks
Hi Sidratul
I managed to download and install the latest version, as you suggested above, once I had recovered my site.
I have checked my license, which is valid and current. I hit ‘save settings’ just to be on the safe side and it confirmed it is registered and valide.
I have very little confidence that exactly the same thing will not happen again – as it has for the previous 4 upgrades.
Each time it breaks my site and a I have to scramble to fix it. Is there any way that I can test this to make sure the same thing will not happen again?
Thanks
Bernie
I have the same issue. Updating from 5.2.4 to 5.2.5, using auto update, crashed my site. Doesn’t look like the issue has been fixed.
Thank you, again. Much appreciated.
Happy to reshare login details privately, if needed.
Hi Nayeem
That solved the problem on the download I shared with you, but I’m still having the same issue with the ‘single file download’ on this download…
https://madetomeasurekpis.com/download/kpi-checklists-audiobook-downloads/
Any ideas? Thanks
Many thanks!
Many thanks for your prompt help Nayeem!
OK, thanks for sharing that and for your help. I’ll close the ticket now. Have a good weekend!
Thanks Nayeem. What did you do to fix it – so I don’t have to trouble support if I have this issue in future?
Hi Nayeem
Thanks for that. I think the CSS was added on previous ticket to the WPDM team. So one of the pages now seems fine, but I was just trying to figure out why…
madetomeasurekpis.com/download/kpi-checklists-book-downloads-page/
…still has an ‘invisible’ zip download button at the bottom of the page – it uses the same link and page template as…
madetomeasurekpis.com/download/kpi-checklists-audiobook-downloads
…the page that now works
Any ideas would be appreciated. I think I have cleared the cache on the problem page.
Also, but not essential, I originally had the zip download as a big green button – any advice on how to recreate this?
OK, thanks.
Thanks. I’d really like to keep the Zip download option, but I appreciate the advice!
I’ll remove the CSS, but I’d appreciate knowing which file it lives in – I’m a bit of noob on this stuff
OK. Thanks. I’m pretty sure that was added in a previous support query to your team – I wouldn’t add anything to the CSS. What is strange is that it has been there and not caused this issue until the last month. Would it be safe to remove that CSS? If so, please point me to where this CSS lives.
Many thanks
Bernie
Hi
I also having a problem on this link
The zip download button is there, but it’s so pale it looks like it is missing. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks
Hey that’s great, it seems to be working now. What did you change?
One small thing, it doesn’t seem to apply my site styling (orange buttons) but it’s not a disaster!
Perhaps it is the links I’m including. Here is the response without the links..
Hi Nayeem
There seem to be two issues. Firstly, when you click on the green package download icon on this page…
the link from above ending download/kpi-checklists-audio-book-download
It takes me to an individual files download page, not a zip file – it was not doing this previously.
Secondly, this page … the link from above ending kpi-checklists-audiobook-downloads
… is not offering a zip bundle download at all, which it is set to do.
Thanks for your help!
I don’t understand why my fuller responses are not appearing in this thread.
Hi Nayeem, for some reason my responses are not appearing. I will try again…
Hi,
I’m still stuck here. I can see how to change the link template and button (however, I’m OK with the main button I already have). My problem is the background colour of the buttons showing file details (blue in my image) and the ‘individual’ download link buttons. I can’t see where these are set or how to change their colour. I have shown the buttons with arrows pointing to them on the attached image.
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks, I thought there must be instructions somewhere but struggled to find them. Will give it a go.
