Through default settings of shortcode the download link is provided. Kindly guide how to attach a file from server as a server path to initiate download?

I have opposite problem. I am using free version of plugin. I have created a particular page for download of PDF ebook. When I click the link to download, the ebook opens in the browser with the file location. With this file location anyone can have access to download it. Why the file not downloading?
