in reply to: SEO Warning related to WPDM plugin #109420

Thanks @Shahriar for the quick reply. But it leaves me to ask… is there a hook for this function? If not can a hook be coded into an update to this addon? Ideally i’d prefer to not edit the plugin code but rather just unhook an action in my theme’s functions.php or have a UI in the plugin that allows for this.

I cannot deactivate the plugin as it provides essential functionality for the site.

It is not clear to me how or where I would edit the link as you suggested. Other than in the source code. Can you advise on how and where to make that edit?

Is there a better forum for this matter?

Thanks!

My key is still locked. My info is Order ID#5bb48da8e0247.

I also said the same in post: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/change-the-url-of-the-site-assigned-to-the-license/

Thank you.

@Shahriar thank you. Unfortunately, I am still stuck. I logged in to your site and got my key. First, in my user dashboard in wpdm.com, the API key modal still shows the old URL under “Linked Sites:” Second, when I log into my WP website’s admin back-end and try to enter my API key via Downloads > Setting > License, paste the API and click “Save Settings” I get a message “Invalid License Key”. It appears that perhaps the API key was not unlocked. Additional help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I saw this issue on my localhost xammp dev environment. I just tried the suggestion from @Shahriar above and it did not help. I tried downgrading to WPDM free from pro and got the same errors. I tried rolling back to the version of WPDM prior to this issue starting for me no luck. I then noticed that below the frontend’s multiple error messages that the “all packages” shortcode table was actually rendered but with certain docs having both an atypical document icon and another error message within a table cell on the same row. I then decided to look at the packages on the main Download Manager “All Packages” dashboard UI and noticed that for some reason each of the files that had a bad icon and error message on the front end for some reason no longer had a file attached to the post. I then either deleted the post or reattached a document file to each of these and the error messages disappeared. This was my fix.

My hope is that the vendor can update the code to provide a more meaningful error message tell the user that there is no doc attached and to please upload a doc.

I thought I had docs attached to everything but in copying over from a staging environment where more than one person was working to a personal localhost perhaps I migrated incomplete records? I did not however notice this error at the time. The fact that it was not noticeable at the time could be due to a subsequent plugin update where there was new code added to produce a visible error where in the past the error was not displayed even if the files were still not present?

My interpretation of this request (and my personal need) is for the plugin to automatically generate a pdf preview image. The above suggestions require I generate my own pdf preview image file and then upload. This is very tedious. Is there an automated method?

I too am having this issue but only in certain environments (localhost XAMPP) and with the extended short code add-on with the table display using this [wpdm-all-packages items_per_page="50" jstable=1 order_by="title" order="ASC"]. I get on page displayed errors like this:

Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in C:\xampp\htdocs\2\wp-content\plugins\download-manager\tpls4\wpdm-all-downloads.php on line 217

Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in C:\xampp\htdocs\2\wp-content\plugins\download-manager\tpls4\wpdm-all-downloads.php on line 218

Warning: array_shift() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in C:\xampp\htdocs\2\wp-content\plugins\download-manager\tpls4\wpdm-all-downloads.php on line 220

These warning messages precede the table which otherwise seems to work fine. Using the file tree shortcode does not cause this. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
