Hi, I am looking for additional information relating to the cookies used by wpdm, to include on my own company’s website cookie and privacy policy pages.
FYI, I am using the Complianz WordPress plugin to manage cookie consent. It scans all cookies used being used, and cross-references them with the cookiedatabase.org database to indicate the service (e.g. WordPress Download Manager), Expiration, Cookie Function, Purpose, and whether the cookie stores personal data. The issue is that the “__wpdm_*” cookies ar not recognized by Complianz:
__wpdm_client
__wpdm_am_cp
__wpdm_fm_move
__wpdm_fm_copy
Complianz uses https://cookiedatabase.org/ to audit cookies. I have checked their website directly, and it doesn’t recognize the above cookie names. As a result, the wpdm cookies / service are listed as being subject to investigation. Doesn’t look good.
The workaround is to add the required information manually to the Complianz plugin. For me to do this, however, I will need the following information
For each cookie used/generated by wpdm:
– Expiration (e.g. session, x days, persistent)
– Cookie function (e.g. function for “wordpress_logged_in*” is “Store logged in users”
– Purpose (e.g. functional, statistics, statistics[anonymous], preferences, marketing/tracking)
– Is personal data stored (yes or no)?
Also, for the WordPress Download Manager Service, three things are needed:
– Service Type (e.g. Content Management)
– Is data shared with WPDM service provider and/or other 3rd parties (yes or no)?
– Privacy Statement URL (fyi https://w3eden.com/privacy-policy.html is currently broken)
Could you please provide this information, so I can put this compliance issue to rest.
Many Thank.
