Why does the downloaded filename, change in the Free version?

We are looking into an issue for a client who uses the free version of this plugin.
We can see the file that is to be downloaded, but when they get the link, and it is downloaded, it has random numbers, like:

KS19-Manual.pdf
Changed to: 4344wpdm_KS19-Manual.pdf.

Any ideas why this is?

Hello Simon,
Sorry to hear about the issue.
I have tested it in the free version in our testing server but haven’t found any similar issues.
It could happen if there is already the same file name on the server.

Could you please send me related urls to check the issue?
If possible please also share temporary admin access of the website in a private reply. It will help me to identify and solve the issue quickly.
