Upload and Download Not Working

Hi,
i’m having some issues setting up Download Manager. I tried it in a wordpress copy in local (using xampp, with various plugins and Attire as theme) and it works fine, but now that is on my web space, it does not work (also on a fresh wordpress installation without any other plugin or custom theme). Basically, it does not upload anything (tried with various jpg, png and pdf files, the bar goes 100% then does nothing). If i give the plugin the file with the wordpress Media Library, in the front end it goes in Elaboration after giving it the password but it just stop working (It goes in elaboration and do nothing). How can i resolve this?

At the suggestion of the host, i have installed and set up really simple ssl and now download manager works fine.
