how can I recall a simple link to the download, with no icon/styled text?

if you have access to templates, use the default link template. I bought the plugin, but I remember when I was test driving the free version, I was able to that. choose the category if already have one ->edit -> from drop-down choose the template or if you adding one by one same thing just assign a template to the doc. Good luck
