short codes appear to reader in email / print

I’m using the short codes to insert a download in my blog posts. When the email subscribers receive their email about a new post, they see the short code in the email (which must look like Greek to them). Is there a way around this?

It depends on your email sender plugin. It should execute do_shortcode function on email content before sending it.
