Hi, I just starting to use this plugin and need a bit of suggestion please. currently I have 2 issues.

Download Issue
1. I can’t find the option where it forced download instead of opening in new window, hide the direct url and disable direct link download.

Security Issue (this is in learndash area)
1. I have setup access to a certain membership level but it doesn’t seem to work, I test dummy account with no permission (copy and paste the link) and it can open the download just fine.
2. I tried Elementor addin and add download button on a page in Learndash, the shortcode where it is a Title has a link that don’t allow download which is good. On the other hand the download button that come with the shortcode (on the right hand side) has difference link and it can open download same as download button widget (the security access doesn’t work)

I’m a bit confused, your suggestion will be much appreciated.

Hi,
Downloads may open in browser for 3 reasons:
1. when you enable “Open in browser” option
2. When you attach file as URL
3. When you add files from media library
To force download, you need to keep “Open in browser” option disabled and upload directly using wpdm or attach file using server file browser.

But, I’m not clear about your learndash area question.

When you file files though wpdm or attach file using server file browser, download links are always protected.
