I need to be able to add custom fields to the registration page (ie. Customer Number).

I then need to be able to include that field in the email that gets sent after a file is downloaded. I realize I will need to purchase the Download notification plugin, which is fine. However, I would like to know if this will work before doing so.

Yes, that will work fine, also, we are coming with a new update of the notification add-on with some extended feature set, including email template customization.
