Hello,
I was wondering, if I upload a PDF via WPDM, with an assigned password, but save it as DRAFT… Is there any way someone could still access that file by accident? See, my idea is to publish the PDF at a specific time, but have the DRAFT there, ready to simply PUBLISH when the time comes.
But I am worried that the file could still be found if someone searches for it…
any clarification or information on this would be greatly appreciated!
Hello @heather,
Hope you are well. can you check this add-on, for publishing the PDF file at a specific time
I hope it may help you
Thank you and regards
Yes, but I would prefer not to buy it for only ONE time that I need to do this.
Do you know if saved as a DRAFT the pdf file can still be viewed if someone has a direct link to the file?
Hello @heather,
Can you please share the related file URL otherwise you may also check it in browser incognito mode too, please let me know then
Thank you and regards
I wasn’t able to test this. But it’s OK! I did program the Publication time, and it worked.
ETA:
Regarding PDFs that are to be downloaded only when entering a password:
From what I was able to test, if someone downloads a file (having entered the password), they view the PDF in a new window. They can copy that URL and pass it on to someone else.
If that other person pastes that URL directly into their browser, they get the PDF directly, without being asked for the password.
Hello @heather,
Glad to hear this your problem part has been resolved. please let me know if you have other queries
Thank you and regards
