Hi we have upgraded the plugin to 3.2.40 and since then are getting a critical error when visitors try to download password locked files. Non password files work without issue. Debug gives this output:
[22-Apr-2022 13:20:08 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: category in /htdocs/wp-content/themes/website/page.php on line 111
[22-Apr-2022 13:20:08 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: category in /htdocs/wp-content/themes/website/page.php on line 115

Is there a new variable that needs defining for the lock to work?

Thanks

Hi @solsqd

Welcome to the support forum.

We have tested your reported issue in our testing environment and it’s working fine.

However, based on the error log it seems the error is generated from your theme.

We’ll need to take a closer look to see why this might be happening. But, this might take a little longer. Therefore, I’d request you to check whether there are any plugins installed that might be causing this?

Here is what you can do to check:

1. Please try switching to another theme, like Twenty Seventeen, and check whether the issue persists or not. If not, then it is the theme that is causing the error.

2. Deactivate all plugins temporarily except WPDM and see if that solves the problem. Then, activate plugins one by one to see which plugin is causing the problem.

This is a general debugging process that all WordPress support teams perform to find 90% of the problems.

If you are not sure how to go about it, we’ll be glad to help. Please share your website credentials as mentioned below so that we can take a look and help you asap.

Please let me know how that goes. I will be happy to help with any further assistance you might need.
