To whom it may concern,
Downloading WP Download Manager from the WP application works without error. The activation fails right away with following error:
Parse error: Syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /hp/br/ac/xj/www/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/download-manager.php on line 14
I suspect this to be the line „namespace WPDM;“
Can anyone help here?

Download Manager requires PHP version >= 5.4 Please ask your server support to update the PHP. That should fix this issue.

I upgraded to 7.1 PHP.
