Open in Browser option not functioning as intended

I’ve unchecked “Open in Browser” option from WPDM settings, yet the pdf download still opens in the parent window. I’ve cleared my cache, it WPDM still behaves this way. How can I fix this?

Can we deactivate other plugins to check if another plugin is causing this issue?

Yes. I just did it and it didn’t seem to help. You can try too but please put it back asap.
