Only add the same email to a subscriber list once (not by IP address)

For the Mailchimp email lock extension, it would be great if subscribers were only added to the ‘subscriber list’ under the ‘subscriber’ tab in the back office once per email rather than by IP address to avoid unnecessary duplications.
