Odd spike in download numbers

Hi, I have two free ebooks on my site and use download manager to count how many downloads of each. They were running pretty close to the same the last time I looked about 3 weeks ago. Now one of them has doubled from 10,000 to 20,000. But there is no corresponding spike in traffic to the page. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what might have caused this?

I did make a change to the page 3 weeks ago. I added hupso social media buttons to my site and didn’t want them displaying on the page, so I added a short code to prevent them from displaying. That’s the only change I made to the page.

Any ideas?

Hi Shaon, Yes, but unless the same person clicked it 10,000 times I don’t understand how the number could have doubled with no corresponding increase in traffic to the page. And there would be no point in the same person downloading multiple copies.
