modal popup login form

Tried to create a modal popup login form, using the instructions at https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/how-to-add-modal-popup-login-form-in-your-wordpress-site/.
However, that already fails in the beginning, because, although it’s said:
“Now, let’s learn, how you can add a modal popup login form in your WordPress site. Here I resumed, you already have WordPress Download Manager Free or Pro version installed and activated.”

In the Free Download Manager settings there is no ‘Frontend Access’ at all. There are only the four items ‘Basic’, ‘User Interface’ ‘Updates’ and ‘Privacy’.
