Hi Team, free user here (looking to go pro soon i hope, if finances allow),
Anyway, I host my own site on my server at home and I’m about to start the journey of setting up a new host and migrating data between the two.

In order to preserve the current downloads (over 3,000), do I simply need to ensure that the files are found in the same location on the new server, and the WP database is the same? (ng: ideally i’d like a fresh start database)

Any help would be much appreciated thanks ! ():)

Hello Richard de Jonge,

Hope you are well. For transferring/migrating WPDM, you may use a good FTP tool or you can also follow this doc too, https://wordpress.org/support/article/moving-wordpress. And keeping old download statistics, you can use your old database too. I hope you have understood. Please check and let me know

Thank you and regards

Hey – thank you, that does help as it means there is no specific plug-in only method for linking files together 🙂
