I’m trying to get this list to be ordered alphabetically, but it’s not working. What am I doing wrong in my shortcode?
[wpdm_tree download_link=1 category=other-department-forms cat_orderby=name cat_order=asc]

On this page… https://dairyone.com/resources/forms-and-documents/

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Jacqueline,

Thanks for contacting us.

Please use the shortcode like below. You can copy/paste to use:
[wpdm_tree download_link=1 category="other-department-forms" cat_orderby="name" cat_order="asc"]

I hope it will work properly then.

Let us know for further assistance.

Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply! Unfortunately, that code is not working either. See it in action here at the bottom of the page: https://dairyone.com/resources/forms-and-documents/

Hello,

I have checked your site. The files are arranged properly according to their name. But the folders are not arranged properly.
However, I have tested the shortcode in our testing envirnoment and found everything is working properly.
You can use shortcode like below
[wpdm_tree download_link=1 cat_orderby="name" cat_order="asc"]
It will arrange all categories and files according to alphabet without any issue.

This is still not working. I used the shortcode that you provided to me and the order still doesn’t work… and it also doesn’t made a difference if I change the order to “desc”. Here’s the code I used:

[wpdm_tree download_link=1 category=other-department-forms cat_orderby=”name” cat_order=”asc”]

And here’s a screenshot of it applied in the page:

Please let me know what I am doing wrong. I would like the folders to start with A, then B, then C.

Thank you!
Jackie

Hello Jacqueline,

Sorry for the delay.
As I tested, If you dont mention category name in the shortcode, it will arrange the categories properly.

Hello Tanvir,

I appreciate your responses, but the code that you supplied to me does not work. Here’s a screenshot of our chat with code applied and what shows on the screen: https://dairyone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2022/12/Screenshot-2022-12-26-173239-scaled.jpg

What I want to accomplish seems like it should be quite simple. I want the category “other-department-forms” to show the folders in alphabetical order.

Therefore, the following folders should be listed in this order:

Accounting
Animal Health Diagnostic Lab
Bacteria and Regulatory Lab
Check Mark Laboratory

As you can see above in the screenshot that it displays in the opposite order of what we are hoping, despite whether we choose “asc” or “desc”. This also happens when I use the exact code that you supplied to me.

Can you please take another look and let me know why I am not able to change the order?

Thank you very much for your help,
Jackie

Hello Jackie,

Sorry for the delay.
Could you please create a page with shortcode to test the issue. Please also share temporary admin access in a private reply of your website to check the issue further.

Hello,

Sorry for the inconvenience and for taking your time for this issue.

As I cannot visit your site’s plugins page, I am not sure about the version of wpdm free and wpdm extended shortcode you are using.
However, if it is outdated, please update those to the latest version 3.2.64 and 3.0.4 respectively.

I have again checked the issue in my development environment as well as here. Everything is fine. The categories are correctly arranged. You can edit the page from here with username/password demo/demo. but in your site example page, I see order asc/desc is not working.

There could be other issues in your site. In this case, I would suggest running a conflict test. You need to run a basic WordPress conflict test on your site to detect what actually causes the problem. To troubleshoot the issue, please deactivate other plugins except for WPDM with WPDM extended shortcode. Then check if the issue still persists. If that solves your problem, activate the plugins one by one, and continue checking the issue. In this way, you will be able to detect which one causes the problem.

Regards
Tanvir
