Hi there,
How can I make open a file in a new tab, rather than start a direct download on click, with the Direct download shortcodes (/?wpdmdl=[ADD_FILE_ID]” or [wpdm_direct_link id="" target="_blank" label=""])
Thanks in advance
Arianna
Hi @arianna-bianchi,
We hope you are well, and Thank you for your query.
Please ensure that you have enabled the Open in Browser option in the WPDM settings section, which should resolve the issue.

Thanks! This worked for me (I had the same question!).

That worked for me too, thank you!
I have opposite problem. I am using free version of plugin. I have created a particular page for download of PDF ebook. When I click the link to download, the ebook opens in the browser with the file location. With this file location anyone can have access to download it. Why the file not downloading?
Hi, Further to the above I also need the download to open in a new tab so that people dont leave the Web site. I have tried the shortcode above with no success and maybe I am putting it in the wrong place. I am using Divi theme and when I put it into the custom CSS I get the following error Expected RBRACKET at line 12, column 19.
