How to make a direct link to a downloadable file in the Download Manager plugin
I would like to have URL like this:
https://domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/xxx.pdf
Thanks,
I meant, I need static URL link to original file, not dynamic URL genarated by this plugin.
Thanks,
Hello, Noboru
I hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
To retrieve the download URL or link in your page template, use the tag [download_url] for the URL and [download_link] for the link. Please review this and confirm if it meets your needs.

Hi, Tahasin,
Thanks, but this is not what I wanted. I know this function, but what I really need is the function to answer the original file URL from Media folder.
The function will provide a link like “https://domain.com/download/titile/# ”
What I need is a link like “https://domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/xxx.pdf “, which shows where the file is.
Thanks,
unfortunately, the only way to incorporate the direct link into the page template is manually, by copying the file path from the media.
I see, Thanks.
Something along the lines of “https://domain.com/wp-content/uploads/basketball stars/2025/02/xxx.pdf” would be great, as it would reveal the location of the file.
Hello @Jerome
We have introduced a new feature Media Protection in our latest updates, you can read the documentation here
If you don’t want to apply media protection than, we recommend to upload the files from Attach File section in this way your file and file address remain protected.
If you have further queries, please open a new support ticket.
