How do I bypass the download page and go straight to the resource for all our documents?

Hello Amy,

For bypassing the download page you can use the direct short code , eg:

[wpdm_package id='package_id']

this doesn’t work – it still opens the page before the download page. and does not go straight to the resource.

Use this link template Default Template ( Compact )
or
you can use this short code [wpdm_package id="id" template="link-template-button.php"]

Hi Tahasin, this is not what I am after.
we have set up our entire site using download manager, to track download instances etc, but our team now does not want that second window.
I dont know how to change it across the whole site, and to go back and change all the shortcodes thats not what we want.
How can I change it across the whole site to bypass that page. thanks.

It would be really helpful if you could share a screenshot or video of the page you’re looking to bypass or hide. That way, I can better understand your request and assist you more effectively.

this is our website

all over the website we used the download manager plugin to manage our PDFS

eg on this page:

2.10.2 Transforming life cycle carbon accounting using AI

on the left hand side there is a PDF link set up with your shortcode

then when you click on it, we dont want that page anymore, we just want it to open the PDF.

Currently, there isn’t an option to set up this snippet in the free version. Please make sure to keep a copy of this code.

If you find my assistance helpful, I would be grateful if you could leave a 5-star review here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/download-manager/reviews/?rate=5#new-post. Your support means a lot and truly inspires us!

If you have the paid version, you can easily create a new link template by navigating to Downloads > Templates. Click on “Create New Link Template” in the top right corner, then paste your code and give your new template a name.

can I edit an existing template rather than create a new one? If ic create a new one doesnt that mean ill have to change the template on every asset?

Yes, you can edit an existing template as well.
If you create a new template and want to apply it to all your packages, you will need to change the template for each package.
